The Ministry of Health on Thursday announced that 202 people have tested positive for COVID-19 from a sample size of 2,787 tested in the last 24 hours, marking a positivity rate of 7.2 percent.
“Of the cases, 164 are Kenyans while 38 are foreigners; 102 are females and 100 are males. The youngest is a one – year-old child while the oldest is 86 years old.” Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement on Wednesday.
This now brings the total number of cases recorded to 326,217 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,692,073.
In terms of county distribution, Nairobi county is leading with 141, Kiambu 32, Kilifi 6, Nakuru 5, Siaya 3, Uasin Gishu 3, Kisii 2, Machakos 2, Muranga 2, Busia, Embu, Kakamega, Kitui, Mombasa and Taita Taveta had one case each.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, in a statement to newsrooms, noted that 91 patients recovered from the disease, all of them from the Home-Based and Isolation Care program; this pushes the total recoveries to 319,208.
There is no death reported. Therefore, the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,651.
The Ministry also stated that 31 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 1,327 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

“No patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), none is on supplemental oxygen and no patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).”
