NAIROBI — Prophet Victor Kanyari has revealed that his driver suddenly walked away from his job, forcing the Salvation Healing Ministry founder to launch an unusual search for a new driver to help supply water to Kasarani residents.
Kanyari disclosed the unexpected departure while announcing that he is looking for an experienced driver aged 40 years and above to operate a manual lorry.
«“My driver did quit his job and I don’t know why. He just woke up and left,” Kanyari said.»
The preacher's remarks have raised curiosity over what happened to his former driver, although Kanyari did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the resignation.

Kanyari's unusual driver vacancy
Unlike an ordinary driving job, the position will involve operating a manual lorry that Kanyari says will be used to distribute water to residents of Kasarani.
«“Now I am looking for a driver who is 40 years and above to drive a manual lorry that will help supply water to Kasarani residents,” he said.»
Kanyari has not disclosed the salary or other employment terms, but his decision to specifically seek someone aged 40 and above suggests that he is placing a premium on experience.
The initiative also comes at a time when the preacher is stepping up his community activities in Kasarani.
From preaching to community empowerment
Kanyari has increasingly presented himself as a community-focused figure, with empowerment and support programmes featuring prominently in his public engagements.
His activities have included initiatives targeting young people and residents in Kasarani, with messages centred on economic empowerment and creating opportunities for people to improve their livelihoods.
The preacher has also linked his public engagements to issues affecting ordinary residents, including access to water and other basic services.
The latest water initiative could therefore provide Kanyari with an opportunity to directly address one of the challenges facing residents while expanding his community presence.
Kanyari's political ambitions raise the stakes
The driver announcement comes as Kanyari continues to prepare for a much bigger political battle.
The preacher has declared his intention to contest the Kasarani parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election, marking a major shift from his religious career into elective politics.
His political ambitions have already attracted considerable attention, particularly because he is seeking to transform his popularity as a preacher into political support at the grassroots.
Kanyari has increasingly been using empowerment and community initiatives to engage residents as he builds his political profile.
Why the driver matters
For Kanyari, the search for a new driver is about more than simply filling a vacant position.
The successful applicant will be responsible for operating a lorry that is expected to play a role in supplying water to Kasarani residents.
That places the driver at the centre of an initiative that Kanyari hopes will have a direct impact on the community.
But one question remains unanswered: why did his previous driver suddenly quit?
Kanyari says he does not know why the driver left.
For now, the preacher is moving ahead with his search for a replacement — and this time, he wants someone aged 40 or above who can confidently handle a manual lorry.
As Kanyari's political ambitions gather momentum ahead of 2027, his latest community initiative is likely to attract even more attention in Kasarani.
