Moses Kuria: I Will Quit Politics If I Lose The August Polls

Chama Cha Kazi {CCK) Party leader Moses Kuria has rubbished claims that he submitted his name for nomination as a member of parliament should he lose in the polls slated for August 9.

The Gatundu South lawmaker said that the law does not allow members seeking elective seats to submit to submit their names for nomination.

“The law is very clear. If you vie for an elective seat, you can not forward your name for nomination on the party list. It is simply NOT TRUE that I have forwarded my name to be nominated as an MP. “ Moses Kuria said

“My single minded focus is to be elected Governor of Kiambu County and to have William Ruto elected as President. Both outcomes are assured and what remains is a formality.” He went on

Kuria who is seeking unseat Kiambu County Governor James Nyoro who is seeking to defend his bid on Jubilee Party said that if he is not elected he will quit politics

“ In the very unlikely event if I am not elected, you will not see me in politics again let alone seeking to be nominated. There is life beyond politics”

Kuria was responding to reports that he had submitted his name alongside several others to the Registrar of Political Parties and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for review and approval ahead of the polls.
