President Uhuru Kenyatta broke the protocol after He invited Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga to address people who had attended the Jamhuri Day Celebrations.
The president thanked Raila Odinga for supporting him during the initial stages of revamping Uhuru gardens.
In his address Raila Odinga gave a brief history about Uhuru gardens how it came to be as it was a torturing camp.
In an onslaught against the Deputy President William Ruto,the ODM boss said that Weston is part of Uhuru Gardens.
“Here next to the Weston Hotel which is part of this ground in Langata primary school, there are torture chambers which have been preserved by the Museum of Kenya”,Raila said.
The former premier thanked President Uhuru for his efforts to preserve history “unedited.” As the future generation will learn about pre-colonial heroes.
“This land had been grabbed by those land grabbers who cannot see an open space and stop grabbing them but you managed to retrieve it back for the benefit of our people where it is going to remain truly Uhuru gardens,” He continued.
This has been interpreted by some political analysts as a clear endorsement by the president.
