Kanyari Pledges 1,100 School Uniforms in Kasarani as 2027 Political Heat Builds

Televangelist Victor Kanyari has announced a major charity drive to distribute more than 1,100 full school uniforms to vulnerable and underprivileged pupils in Kasarani Constituency, in a move that continues to blend social welfare with his growing political presence ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The Salvation Healing Ministry founder said the initiative is aimed at restoring dignity among school-going children from low-income families, many of whom are struggling under the pressure of the rising cost of living.

Kanyari noted that the programme will target pupils in Kitwamba and Chieko, stressing that beneficiaries will be selected strictly based on need rather than personal connections.

“We are going to give out over 1,100 full school uniforms to pupils from Kitwamba and Chieko in Kasarani Constituency,” Kanyari said.

He added that the goal is to ensure children remain in school with dignity and without disruption caused by lack of basic necessities.

“We are going to give the uniforms to pupils we do not know or have any prior relationship with. Our main focus is to ensure that our children have dignity and are able to attend classes,” he said.

Growing political presence in Kasarani

Kanyari, who has already expressed interest in the Kasarani parliamentary seat, used the opportunity to urge elected leaders to remain consistent in serving residents beyond election cycles.

He criticized what he described as seasonal leadership, where voters are only engaged during campaign periods.

“We have been giving uniforms all over Kasarani, and we will continue giving out more uniforms to less privileged pupils in the constituency,” he said.

His expanding community outreach has seen him position himself as a grassroots mobilizer, combining religious leadership with social and economic empowerment programmes.

Schools, feeding programmes, and small business support

In a previous campaign engagement in Kasarani, Kanyari donated more than KSh 50,000 to selected primary schools to support the government-backed Dishi na County school feeding programme, noting that many parents are unable to meet the required contributions.

During a Wednesday church service, he also extended support to vulnerable families through income-generating tools, donating egg-selling trolleys and crates of eggs to two single mothers.

One of the beneficiaries emotionally recounted her struggles before receiving the support.

“My husband ran away from us. I had given up on life and was on the verge of taking my children to a children’s home,” she said.

She said the donation would now help her rebuild her life and provide for her children through small-scale business.

Kanyari said the initiative is part of his broader mission to empower vulnerable families through practical, income-generating support rather than short-term relief.

“I want to give these two trolleys to these two single mothers and bless them with ten crates of eggs. This is one of the ways I can empower you,” he said.

Kanyari adopts child during church service

In a touching moment during the same service, Kanyari also adopted a young child who attended the church service, pledging to fully support his education.

The televangelist promised to enroll the child at Jehovah Jireh School, covering his school needs as part of his ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable children.

The gesture drew emotional reactions from congregants, who witnessed the child being embraced into the programme as part of Kanyari’s wider outreach efforts.

Public reaction and growing attention

The initiatives have continued to attract attention among residents and online audiences, with many welcoming the support for struggling families while others view it through the lens of his growing political ambitions.

As the 2027 political season gradually takes shape, Kanyari’s blend of philanthropy, religious influence, and political messaging is increasingly positioning him as a notable figure in Kasarani’s evolving leadership landscape.
