Petrol Crisis in Some Parts of the Country

The extreme shortage of petrol has hit several parts of the country, Western Kenya, the North Rift, and the Nyanza region are facing shortages.

This regions heavily rely on Independent petroleum dealers who said that the shortage was due to varying prices

The petrol wholesalers have stopped supplying Petrol to independent petroleum dealers as they wait for the government subsidy

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra) on Monday assured the public that there was enough fuel in the country.

“We assure the public that there are enough fuel supplies in the country and that there should be no cause for panic,” said Epra without divulging details of the deal.

A spot check by The Daily Whistle Kisii County, Bungoma County, and Eldoret Town was among the worst hit by the severe fuel shortage.

Petrol stations are witnessing long queues of motorists since Sunday evening.

With the fuel shortage in some parts of the country, now Boda Boda riders who bought their motorbikes on loans said that their motorbikes might be taken away as they are not able to pay loans.
