Controversial Kenyan socialite and entrepreneur Huddah Monroe has sparked heated debate online after declaring she would rather remain single than marry a Kenyan man.

The statement, shared in a graphic by Radio 47 on 9th September 2026, quotes Huddah saying, *“I would rather remain single than marry a Kenyan man.”*

The comment quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from Kenyans on social media.

Huddah, who rose to fame through Big Brother Africa and later built a successful beauty business, is known for her unfiltered opinions on relationships, dating, and marriage. She has previously stated that she does not believe in marriage as an institution and prefers to focus on her wealth and lifestyle.

On X, formerly Twitter, and Facebook, many Kenyan men criticized the statement, calling it disrespectful, while a section of women defended her, saying she has a right to her preference.

"Kenyan men are not that bad, she just wants attention," one user commented.

Another added, "She is speaking her truth. Let people choose who they want to marry."

Huddah has in the past said she would only consider dating wealthy foreign men and that Kenyan men are not her type. She has also repeatedly said she is not looking for marriage anytime soon.

By press time, Huddah had not clarified the viral quote.
