Lawyer Miguna Miguna has filed a petition in court seeking the arrest and detention of Foreign Affairs CS Raychelle Omamo. In the court application filed, the CS is accused of failing and curtailing the prospects warranting his return to Kenya. Miguna Miguna who is currently exiled in Canada now wants the Cs Omamo and her Interior counterpart arrested and detained in Kamiti.
“In the event of further failure to comply with orders of the Honorable Court order of citizen arrest be and is hereby issued to the citizens of the Republican of Kenya, jointly or severally to arrest on sight and deliver Ambassador Raychelle Omamo, the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the 4th Respondent herein to Kamiti Maximum Prison, pending further orders of the Honorable Court,” read the court order in part.
In his application,he accuses CS Omamo of defying court orders which ruled that he be issued his travel documents to facilitate his return to Kenya.The lawyer also wants the courts to compel the CS to make the necessary plans for him to return to his home country. The Lawyer further wants to receive Over Ksh 1 Million in compensation from Air Lufthansa, Air France, and the Kenyan state. The money is meant to cover the aborted trips he made last year in an effort to return to Kenya.
