Pastor Kanyari Reunites With His Children, Says Situation Remains Tense and Warns Politicians
Pastor Victor Kanyari has announced that he has reunited with his children, Sky and Danny, for the weekend, describing the development as a major relief after weeks of publicly expressing concern over access to them.
The Salvation Healing Ministry founder shared the update on Sunday, saying his efforts had finally borne fruit, although the matter has not been fully resolved.
“About the issue concerning my kids, Sky and Danny, I am with them for the weekend, and I am happy. However, the situation still remains tense, and I ask you to pray for us,” Kanyari said.
A grateful Kanyari also thanked Kenyans and several public figures whom he said stood by him during the difficult period.
“I would like to thank people on social media, Akothee, Mosiria and Shiro Stuart for standing with me to ensure I have my kids with me,” he said.
Background
The issue surrounding Kanyari’s children gained public attention following the death of gospel singer Betty Bayo, Kanyari’s former wife and the mother of Sky and Danny.
Kanyari and Betty Bayo separated several years ago after a highly publicised marriage. Following their split, Betty Bayo moved on and later married businessman Tash, who became a father figure to the two children as they lived together as a blended family.
After Betty Bayo’s death, questions emerged over the children’s welfare and living arrangements. In recent weeks, Kanyari has repeatedly claimed that he was being denied access to his children and used social media platforms to appeal for help, insisting that he only wanted an opportunity to spend time with them.
The matter sparked debate online, with some Kenyans supporting Kanyari’s efforts as the children’s biological father, while others urged all parties involved to prioritise the emotional well-being of the children following the loss of their mother.
Although Kanyari has now confirmed that he is spending the weekend with Sky and Danny, he maintained that the situation remains delicate.
The preacher also warned unnamed politicians against dragging the family matter into political discussions.
“There are some politicians who are mentioning my name, and I don’t want them to politicise the issue about my kids. I will answer them at the right time,” he said.
Kanyari did not identify the politicians in question or disclose further details about the disagreement. For now, he says he is focused on spending quality time with his children and hopes that the family will eventually find lasting peace.
