The Judicial Service Commission has summoned the former Nairobi County governor Mike Sonko to shed more light about corruption in judiciary and judge Chitembwe’s leaked videos.
In a letter signed by Chief Registrar Ann Amadi, JSC directed Sonko to appear before the commission in seven days to record a statement on the same.Sonko is required to appear before the commission in person.
“The attention of JSC has been drawn to several video clips, social media posts, cell phone recordings released by you in which Hon.Justice Said Juma Chitembwe’s conduct as a judge has been brought to question” Reads the letter
The JSC resolved to initiate proceedings against Judge Chitembwe on its own motion.
The commission resolved to appoint a panel to hear the matter.
“I thank the JSC for their speedy action with regard to the rot in the Judiciary I have been airing. The JSC has now officially summoned me to appear before it to shed light on the incidences of corruption in the Judiciary that I have been highlighting” Sonko said.
