Athi-River, Kenya – A notorious gang of violent robbers has been brought to justice following a successful police operation that culminated in the arrest of three prime suspects in Kamulu and Athi-River. The suspects—Kelvin Baraza Andayi alias Kevoo, Titus Mutuku Maingi alias Tush, and Jack Wilshere Kimathi alias Jack—were cornered after detectives linked them to a violent robbery incident at Sanergy Limited Company EPZ in Kinanie on February 23, 2025.
A Brazen Daylight Attack
On the day of the attack, the gang, armed with crude weapons and working alongside two still-at-large accomplices, stormed the company premises like a pack of wolves. They violently subdued workers, tied them up, and left them battered before looting a fridge, a microwave, two lorry batteries, two backloader tractor batteries, and a generator. The stolen items were loaded into a waiting pickup truck as the gang vanished without a trace.
“This was not a random act—it was a calculated, violent heist,” said Athi-River Sub-County Police Commander Joseph Kiplangat. “We vowed from the onset that we would not rest until every last one of them was in custody.”

A Forensic Trail Leads to Kamulu
A multi-agency team of detectives launched a manhunt, relying on forensic and digital clues that led them to a rented house in Kamulu, where the alleged mastermind, Kelvin Andayi, was arrested. A search of his hideout revealed a Beretta pistol, a pocket phone, beige and green tactical trousers, six assorted SIM cards, and other critical evidence. Investigators believe these items were used in executing and coordinating the heist.
“Kevoo was living like a ghost—off the grid, but not out of reach,” remarked a senior officer close to the investigation. “His arrest was the turning point.”
Swift Follow-Up Arrests
With pressure mounting, Andayi gave up his accomplices, leading detectives to Gimu in Athi-River where Maingi and Kimathi were found and apprehended. The operation was executed with speed and precision, ensuring none of the suspects had time to flee.
“These arrests mark the beginning of justice for the victims,” said DCI Machakos County Coordinator Agnes Muli. “We believe the gang may be linked to other unsolved violent robberies and our investigations are far from over.”
The Hunt Continues
The trio is currently in custody pending arraignment, as detectives pursue further leads to bring the remaining two suspects to book. Meanwhile, all recovered items have been securely detained as exhibits in the ongoing investigation.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen praised the swift action by law enforcement, stating, “We want to assure the public that crime has no sanctuary. This operation sends a clear message: Kenya will not be a playground for criminals.”
