Two individuals linked to the management of Taal Lounge in Nairobi’s Parklands area have been arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts over an alleged assault on an Indian national.
Rahiel Daud and Hikesh Motwani alias Vicky appeared before the court and pleaded not guilty to charges of assault causing actual bodily harm and threatening to kill. The court ordered that they be remanded at Parklands Police Station pending a bond and bail ruling set for March 30, 2026.
What Happened at Taal Lounge in Parklands
According to police reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of March 24, 2026, at Taal Lounge in Parklands.

The complainant, an Indian national visiting Nairobi, had gone to the entertainment joint with a friend when a dispute arose over a bill they believed had already been settled. They sought clarification from the management, prompting the involvement of Hikesh Motwani, who is reportedly the establishment’s owner.

Details of the Assault Case
During the confrontation, Motwani allegedly assaulted the complainant’s companion.
When the complainant intervened, Rahiel Daud is said to have joined in, punching him and striking his head with an object. The attack reportedly left the victim with serious injuries and heavy bleeding.

Daud is also accused of issuing death threats, causing the complainant to fear for his life.
Victim Treated as Investigations Begin
The injured complainant was rushed to MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi, where he received treatment.
A P3 form was issued and completed, while detectives recorded statements from the complainant and witnesses as part of the investigation.
Court Proceedings at Kibera Law Courts
Detectives from Parklands Police Station moved swiftly to investigate the case, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.
They were subsequently arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts, where they denied all charges. The case will proceed with a bond and bail ruling expected on March 30, 2026.
