In a show of unity and respect, Rachel Ruto on Thursday led a delegation of national leaders in mourning the late David Njuguna Kiaraho, following a condolence visit to his family home in Runda.
The First Lady, accompanied by Kwenya Thuku, described the late former Ol Kalou MP as a selfless leader whose impact will be felt for generations.
“In this difficult moment, we stand with you in prayer and solidarity, trusting that God will grant you comfort, strength and peace,” she said.
She added that Kiaraho’s unwavering dedication to his constituents and public service leaves behind a legacy worth celebrating.
“Hon. Kiaraho’s commitment to his people will be remembered with deep respect. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

Ichung’wah Speaks as Leaders Flock Kiaraho’s Home
Earlier, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah also visited the family, describing the late legislator as dependable and development-focused.
“His passing is a great loss not only to his family but also to the wider community he diligently represented,” said Ichung’wah.
Also present were John Kiarie, Kuria Kimani and Daniel Manduku, underlining the broad political goodwill Kiaraho commanded.
Why Kiaraho’s Death Matters
Kiaraho’s passing has sparked conversations around leadership rooted in grassroots engagement and service delivery—qualities many leaders say are increasingly rare in modern politics.
Political observers note that his legacy may influence future leadership dynamics in Nyandarua County, especially among young aspirants looking to emulate his style of governance.
Burial Date Confirmed
The family confirmed that the late Kiaraho will be laid to rest on Friday, April 10, 2026, in Tigoni, in what is expected to be a high-profile send-off attended by senior political figures.
