Deputy President William Ruto’s Presidential Campaign Communication Director Hussein Mohamed has written a protest letter to the Nation Media Group {NMG} CEO Stephen Gitagama over negative stories about William Ruto
The former Citizen Tv journalist accused NMG of using the story ‘Day I almost slapped Uhuru’ to intensify bias framing and negative profiling of the Deputy President as the headline was not factual
Hussein went on to accuse the media house of evading to report on real issues affecting Kenyans and how the Kenya Kwanza Coalition manifesto is going to transform the country once Ruto is elected in the August General elections
“We note our displeasure with your media house’s decision to not only distort facts but outrightly publish fabricated and imaginative stories whose agenda only you can explain,” Hussein said in a letter to NMG

According to a report by the Daily Nation, Ruto, while speaking to Kikuyu elders at his Karen residence on Friday, July 1, disclosed that when Uhuru said he had given up, he almost slapped him but restrained himself due to the respect he had for him.
“So, ndiyo huyo… Oh, sasa, hii maneno, sijui nini, mimi sitaki, mimi nataki kuenda Ichaweri, sasa mimi sitaki, wacha tuachane na hii kitu.”
“Mimi nikamwangalia, nikamwambia ‘wewe’! Ni vile tu nilikua na heshima, ningemchapa kofi. Ati sisi tuache?”
The tough talking Hussein told Gitagama that while they are free to support one side, they should publicly state the same, rather than hiding under the guise of objectivity.
