Lampard Everton announcement imminent

Frank Lampard has signed a 2 and a half year contract with Everton and is set to be announced as new manager today.

The ex Chelsea and Manchester City player has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in January 2021. He takes over an Everton side just above the relegation zone and will be tasked with moving the Toffees up the table.

He comes with both Premier League and Championship experience having previously managed Chelsea a and Derby . He also has a reputation of promoting and breeding young players as is evident from his time at Chelsea.

He led Derby to the Championship playoffs in his first ever stint as a manager which in turn earned him the Chelsea job. Former Swansea and Derby County manager Paul Clement will be Lampard’s assistant manager.

Lampard, who arrived at Everton’s Finch Farm training ground on Monday ahead of completing his move, is reportedly have asked Ferguson to be part of his backroom staff. Feguson was in charge in acting capacity after Rafa Benitez Was fired.

He replaces Rafa Benitez who had been in charge of Everton for less than seven months, he was fired after their 2-1 defeat at Norwich.
