Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Ombane Gisairo has survived a road accident after an Isuzu D-Max allegedly hit his vehicle from behind as he travelled from his constituency to Nairobi.
Gisairo said the accident happened on Monday night, September 28, 2026, and involved an Isuzu D-Max with registration number KDX 961T.
According to the MP, the vehicle that hit his car was registered to Isuzu Kenya and leased to the Ministry of Interior.
“Yesternight, as I was coming to Nairobi from my constituency, we were involved in an accident after being hit from behind by a speeding Isuzu D-Max (KDX 961T), registered to Isuzu Kenya and leased to the Ministry of Interior,” Gisairo said.

Gisairo describes how the accident happened
The Kitutu Masaba MP said the impact caused the Isuzu D-Max to lose control and roll onto the road shoulder.
“The pickup lost control and rolled down the road shoulder,” he said.
Gisairo said his driver reacted quickly and managed to bring their vehicle to a safe stop despite the damage caused by the collision.
“My driver was able to safely bring our car to a safe stop despite having lost the rear right tyre,” the MP said.
Gisairo said he and his driver escaped serious injuries but experienced muscle pulls after absorbing the impact.
“Most importantly, I would like to say that we are safe except for the muscle pulls of absorbing the impact,” he said.
Two occupants taken from accident scene
Gisairo said he and his team assisted the two occupants of the other vehicle following the collision.
“We were able to assist the two occupants of the other car,” he said.
However, the MP said the two occupants were later taken away from the scene in another government vehicle.
“They were shortly after whisked away by a GK vehicle (GKB 787J) without allowing the proper procedures by traffic police who had arrived at the scene,” Gisairo said.
The circumstances surrounding the departure of the two occupants from the scene have not been independently established. Gisairo said he subsequently reported the matter to the relevant authorities.
Ministry identifies people involved, MP says
Gisairo said the relevant government agencies are cooperating with investigations into the incident.
“I can confirm that I have reported the matter to the relevant agencies, and they are cooperating in the investigations,” he said.
The MP further said the Ministry of Interior had identified the two people who were in the vehicle, as well as the government officers who allegedly took them away from the scene.
“The ministry has identified the two persons in the car together with the other ministry officers who whisked them away,” Gisairo said.
He said he expects the investigation to establish what happened and determine whether any officers breached the law or established procedures.
“I do believe that the matter will be fully addressed and the officers be disciplined as per the law,” he said.
Clive Gisairo thanks supporters
The MP also reassured supporters who had expressed concern after learning about the accident.
“To all my supporters, I thank you for the overwhelming concerns and messages,” Gisairo said.
He concluded his message with a call for unity.
“I love you all. Sasa tujenge taifa pamoja,” he said.
What investigators will establish
The circumstances surrounding the collision, the vehicles involved and the movement of the two occupants from the scene are expected to form part of the investigations.
Gisairo identified the vehicles involved using registration numbers KDX 961T and GKB 787J in his account of the incident.
His claims concerning the ownership or leasing arrangements of the Isuzu D-Max, the identities of its occupants and the actions of government officers should be distinguished from facts independently established by investigators.
For now, Gisairo says he and his driver are safe and has thanked Kenyans for their concern following the accident.
