Thousands of supporters are gathering this morning, Sunday, September 20th, at K'Owuor Grounds in Kibos, Kisumu.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and his Linda Mwananchi brigade have made a triumphant entry into the lakeside city ahead of the mega rally expected this afternoon.

This comes just days after President William Ruto held activities at the same venue.

WHAT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED IN KISUMU TODAY

According to The Standard Media, the Linda Mwananchi faction of ODM has made a triumphant entry into Kisumu.

Multiple video reports confirm the entry with the title, "See Grand Entry of Sifuna, Orengo, Osotsi, Babu Owino and Linda Mwananchi Leaders in Kisumu Today."

The grand entry caused traffic snarl-ups around Nyaori and Kibos. Boda boda riders led the convoy.

Time: Sunday, September 20, 2026 - Morning from 8 AM

Early morning videos show youths already gathered at K'Owuor Grounds. According to The Star videos, boda boda riders have flooded the area chanting Linda Mwananchi slogans.

Supporters say the mega rally will proceed without disruption.

Place: Triumphant Christian Church, Nyaori, Nyalenda, Kisumu

Time: Sunday, September 20, 2026 - Mid-morning, around 10 AM to 11 AM

By mid-morning, The Star reports that leaders were at the Triumphant Christian Church in Nyaori for a church service.

Inside that church, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna spoke. His exact words were:

"We have come to Kisumu to say thank you. There are those spreading fear, but we are telling wananchi we are coming in peace."

According to Citizen Digital, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has reaffirmed security. Police presence is already visible around Owuor Grounds.

WHAT IS EXPECTED IN KISUMU THIS AFTERNOON

Place: K'Owuor Grounds, Kibos, Kisumu

Time: Sunday, September 20, 2026 - Early afternoon onwards

According to Citizen Digital, today's planned mega rally will be held at Owuor Grounds in Kisumu. This is where President William Ruto launched the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway line in March.

The convoy is now expected to head from Nyaori to Owuor Grounds.

The main speeches at Owuor Grounds are yet to start. Thousands are already gathered waiting.

Leaders expected on stage include Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Governor James Orengo, and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino. Also expected are Anthony Kibagendi, Godfrey Osotsi, Richard Onyonka, Caroli Omondi, and Oundo Mudenyo.

Citizen Digital reports Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi said: "I want to plead with our Kisumu people that despite our political differences, let us remain peaceful. If you come here to abuse our leaders, to declare someone mediocre, even to declare yourself the party leader of ODM, that is illegal and we are not going to allow you."

All eyes are now on Owuor Grounds.
