The equipment was donated by Tools to Work, a Netherlands-based organisation led by its Director, Peter Peek, as part of a five-year partnership signed with the county three years ago.
Natembeya said the latest donation would be distributed to the county’s 32 Vocational Training Centres (VTCs), helping trainees acquire practical technical skills using modern equipment.
“Today, in fulfillment of that commitment, I am pleased to receive the third container worth an estimated Ksh 10 Million, donated free of charge to equip our 32 Vocational Training Centers across the County,” Natembeya said.

The equipment includes electrical tools, carpentry tools, sewing machines, computers, bicycles and automotive toolboxes, among other items.
According to the governor, the partnership is aimed at improving the quality of practical training available to young people pursuing technical and vocational education in Trans Nzoia.
“This donation will go a long way in ensuring that trainees joining our VTCs acquire appropriate technical skills using quality equipment,” he said.
Natembeya thanked Peek and the entire Tools to Work fraternity for what he described as continued partnership and generosity towards the county’s vocational training programme.

“I sincerely thank Mr. Peter Peek and the entire Tools to Work fraternity for this continued partnership and generosity,” the governor said.
He also urged young people in Trans Nzoia to enrol in the county’s vocational training centres and take advantage of the equipment to acquire practical skills that can help them become self-reliant.
“I also wish to invite all our youth back at home to take advantage of this opportunity and enroll in our VTCs to gain practical skills for self-reliance,” Natembeya said.
The governor added that a fourth container of equipment is expected to arrive next year, signalling the continuation of the five-year partnership.
The latest donation comes as counties continue to invest in vocational and technical education as a pathway for young people to acquire practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
