The National Police Service (NPS) said the seizures were made during an ongoing crackdown targeting illicit brews and drugs, with officers recovering suspected bhang from a vehicle and a rental residence.
In Kiambu, officers from Juja Police Station intercepted a vehicle carrying approximately 20 kilograms of cannabis, while a separate operation in Bungoma led to the recovery of bhang, rolling papers and a rolling stick.
“In a coordinated and ongoing crackdown on illicit brews and drugs, police officers have arrested two suspected drug traffickers and seized over 25 kilograms of cannabis sativa in separate operations conducted in Kiambu and Bungoma counties,” the NPS said.

The police statement did not identify the driver or disclose where the suspected drugs were allegedly being transported.
Bhang recovered from rental house in Kimilili
In a separate operation in Bungoma County, officers arrested another suspect after receiving information from a member of the public.
The officers proceeded to a rental residence at Kamukuywa Market in Kimilili Sub-County, where they searched the premises and recovered suspected bhang stored in two green sacks and a blue basin.
“Upon searching the premises, officers recovered bhang stored inside two green sacks and a blue basin,” the NPS said.
The officers also recovered four packets of rolling papers and a rolling stick during the search.
“The suspect was arrested and escorted to Bungoma Police Station for processing and arraignment in court,” the police service stated.
The NPS did not disclose the identity of the suspect or specify the quantity of cannabis recovered at the residence.

Police credit public tip-off for Bungoma seizure
The National Police Service credited members of the public with helping officers combat suspected drug trafficking, saying information provided by a resident contributed directly to the Bungoma operation.
“The National Police Service extends its gratitude to members of the public whose timely information directly contributed to these successful seizures,” the statement read.
The service urged continued cooperation as officers pursue operations against illicit drugs across the country.
“Police remain vigilant, and operations targeting the elimination of illicit drug networks across the country will continue unabated,” the NPS said.
The two suspects were arrested in separate operations, with the Bungoma suspect taken to Bungoma Police Station for processing ahead of the court process.
The allegations against the suspects remain subject to determination through the courts.
