In a strongly worded statement, Alionya alleged that Owino had been behind what she described as multiple attempts to intimidate and discredit her, including alleged assassination plots and attacks on her reputation.
“Good evening Babu Owino. I am not Mama Ida Odinga who forgave you for using Maverick Aoko in putting her reputation in ruins even when she was grieving her husband,” Alionya said.
She further claimed that Owino had previously been forgiven by several prominent political figures despite serious allegations against him.
“I am not Raila Odinga who forgave you for giving Rigathi Gachagua the coordinates of Baba during the 2023 sufuria protests that almost led to the assassination of Baba,” she alleged.
Alionya also invoked the case involving DJ Evolve, who was seriously injured in a 2020 shooting incident involving Owino.
“I am not DJ Evolve who forgave you for incapacitating him,” she said.
She went on to mention ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, alleging that he too had previously forgiven Owino following confrontations in Kisumu and Homa Bay.
“I am not Edwin W. Sifuna who has forgiven you twice for almost assassinating him in Kisumu and Homabay. He still wears a smile walking with you around,” Alionya stated.
Alionya alleges assassination plots
The activist then made the most serious allegations in her statement, claiming that there had been attempts to assassinate her.
“You have planned my assassination twice, my sodomy thrice which have all failed by the grace of God,” she alleged.
Alionya further accused Owino of using Maverick Aoko in what she described as an ongoing campaign to destroy her reputation.
“This is the 5th time you are using Maverick Aoko to destroy my reputation hoping I will get depressed and give up on politics,” she said.
She, however, insisted that attacks on her reputation would not force her out of politics.
“Brethren, I was born with a bad reputation. I am never seeking any good reputation. Ask around,” Alionya said.
Her statement ended with a defiant warning to Owino as she vowed to remain politically active regardless of where he seeks office.
“WAR IS WAR,” she declared.
“Whether you contest for Governor in Nairobi or Homabay, you will find me there,” Alionya added.
“You will suffer more in my hands than the Aoko you keep sending.”
She concluded her statement with a direct message to Owino: “SEE YOU.”
The allegations made by Alionya are serious and have not been independently established. Owino and any other individuals named in the allegations would have an opportunity to respond to the claims.
