The President spoke after launching the construction of the 12-kilometre Rabuor-Chiga road in Nyando Constituency, one of the projects being undertaken as part of the government's infrastructure programme.
The Rabuor-Chiga road project has a budget of Sh962 million.

The 12-kilometre road will provide an alternative link between Kondele and the Kisumu-Ahero road at Rabuor Market.
The new connection is expected to improve movement along the corridor by providing motorists and residents with an alternative route while strengthening access to Rabuor Market and surrounding communities.
Ruto said the project forms part of a wider investment aimed at transforming Kisumu's road infrastructure.
“We have allocated Sh23 billion to build eight new roads covering 270km to expand the county’s road network, improving connectivity and unlocking its full economic potential,” the President said.
The Rabuor-Chiga project is particularly significant for Nyando Constituency because of its connection to the Kisumu-Ahero road, one of the important transport corridors serving Kisumu and surrounding areas.
Better road connectivity can also make it easier for farmers, traders and other businesses to move goods and access markets.
Kisumu set for 270km road expansion
According to Ruto, the government has earmarked Sh23 billion for eight new roads across Kisumu County.
The projects will collectively cover 270 kilometres, representing a significant expansion of the county's road network.
The investment is expected to improve connectivity between different parts of Kisumu while strengthening links between residential areas, trading centres and major roads.
