Liverpool star Luís Diaz will miss next 10 games following his knee injury sustained against Arsenal on Sunday.
The 25-year-old Colombian forward left the Emirates Stadium in a knee brace after he had earlier limped off shortly before halftime, following a clash with Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey. He will not require surgerybut is expected to return at the end of December, after the World Cup.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was also withdrawn at half-time after sustaining an ankle problem with manager Jurgen Klopp saying that it did not “look good for both”.
Diaz has played eight Premier League games for Klopp’s Reds in which he has scored three goals and made two assists, as well as an additional one goal and an assist in three Champions League games this season. He has proved to be an integral part of a side that is currently on a run of poor form with many players lacking confidence.
This comes as bad news to a Liverpool side who currently sit 10th on the Premier League table and are facing league high flyers Manchester City next. Liverpool also travel to Scotland on Wednesday where they will face Rangers in the Champions league.
