Manchester United versus Brentford FC Match has been suspended due to COVID-19.
The match had been scheduled for Tuesday 14 December at 19:30, has been postponed.
“Following PCR confirmation of positive LFT Covid-19 tests among the first-team staff and players, the outbreak requires ongoing surveillance. A decision was taken to close first-team operations at the Carrington Training Complex for 24 hours to help minimise risk of further infection, and individuals who tested positive are isolating in line with Premier League protocols.”Club statement reads.
The club statement insisted that the priority is to reduce the spread of the virus.
The Premier League Board took the decision to postpone based on guidance from medical advisors.
Several clubs in the English Premier league have reported been hit with the outbreak.Aston Villa, Leicester and Norwich have also been affected.
Arsenal has been forced to introduce stringent measures to curb the spread, all players will be tested in the car before they are allowed to the training ground.
Tottenham Hotspur was hit hard as there matches have been postponed, Tottenham versus Rennes in the Europa Conference League and it’s English Premier League clash against Brighton.
With many clubs reporting covid cases it remains to be seen whether the most followed league will be suspended or new measures will be introduced to curb the spread of the virus.
