Nakuru Police Arrest Suspected Serial Killer in Connection with Brutal 2024 Murders

Nakuru County police have apprehended 19-year-old Ezekiel Kwame Mwangi, suspected of being behind a string of brutal murders that have terrorized the region in 2024.

This arrest follows an intensive investigation by Baraka Police Station officers in Rongai Sub-County.

Suspect Arrested in Connection with Nakuru Murders

Police sources confirm that Mwangi is believed to be involved in the tragic killing of five-year-old Alice Ayuma Blessing, whose body was found on July 14, 2024, in a maize plantation in the Mwangaza area.

The case drew widespread attention due to the age of the victim and the nature of the crime.

Further investigations link Mwangi to the August 7, 2024, death of 34-year-old Mueni Mwalimu in Kalyet.

Mwalimu was discovered with injuries indicating a violent assault, prompting fears of a serial killer on the loose.

The very next day, on August 8, 2024, another victim, 28-year-old Moraa Mugambi, was found dead along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway in Kiamunyi, under similarly suspicious circumstances.

Police Investigation into Nakuru Killings

“This arrest is a critical step in our ongoing investigation into these heinous crimes,” stated a senior officer at Baraka Police Station.

“We are committed to pursuing all leads and ensuring that justice is delivered for the victims and their families.”

Mwangi is currently detained at Menengai Police Station, where he is undergoing further processing.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned soon as the police continue their investigation.

Authorities are also appealing to the public for any additional information that could assist in their efforts.

The arrest of Mwangi is seen as a significant move in addressing the fear that has gripped Nakuru County over recent months.

The community has been deeply affected by these incidents, with many residents expressing relief at the news of the arrest.

“This has been a trying time for our community, and we hope that this arrest will bring some peace to the families affected,” the senior officer added.
