Nick Mudimba, CGTN Africa Journalist, Dies After Sudden Collapse at Home

Veteran journalist Nick Mudimba, known for his exceptional work in sports reporting, has passed away after collapsing at his home in Syokimau, Machakos County, on Sunday evening.

His sudden death has left the media industry in shock, with colleagues, friends, and family mourning his loss.

Nick Mudimba was a respected media professional who built a remarkable career in Kenya’s journalism industry. He previously worked with leading stations such as KTN and Switch TV before rising to the position of senior journalist at CGTN Africa.

Known for his deep passion for sports, he covered major events across the continent, earning admiration from peers and viewers alike.

According to family sources, Mudimba had been unwell and was undergoing medical treatment. On Saturday, doctors diagnosed him with high uric acid levels, prompting further medical attention. On Sunday, he returned home feeling better and even watched the Harambee Stars’ match against Gabon.

However, after taking his prescribed medication, he suddenly collapsed and began convulsing. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at home. His body has since been transferred to a mortuary in Syokimau as his family awaits an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
