The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has apologized to Maragua Member of Parliament Mary Wamaua for harassment manhandling and ejection from Kasarani stadium during the Azimio La Umoja convention that was held on Friday.
In a letter signed by the ODM National Chairman John Mbadi,ODM apologized and asked for forgiveness from the legislator and the people of Maragua.
“On behalf of the ODM Party. 1 take this opportunity to publicly apologise to Hon Wamaua, for the indiscend handling and pray that she. together with the good people of Maragua will accept our apology,” Mbadi said in a statement.
“Although. it was not majorly an ODM affair we regret the ugly incident and commit to ensure such incidents do not happen again.”
The legislator is a staunch member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and its party leader William Ruto.
Several politicians including Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who voiced his concerns.
“Like I have been saying, if Mt Kenya is not careful, the nearest they will be seeing State House is from Kiangwaci and even there it’s from Viusasa (Irrespective of political formation you are in)”.Kuria posted on his social media handles.
The party maintained that it stands for equality and women empowerment.
