Over 240,000 People vaccinated in the last 24hours

Following the launch of the mass vaccination exercise on Thursday, the ministry of health has  vaccinated 242,772 people in the last 24hours. According to the ministry of health, the country has already administered 13.1 million doses of vaccines and over 176,000 booster doses. This accounts for 22.1% of the adult population who have been fully vaccinated against the virus.

One hundred and fifty-eight people have tested positive for the virus from the 6,899 samples tested in the last 24 hours, said the Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Friday. The total number of confirmed cases now stands at 321,922 with 3,247,589 samples tested so far. 295,580 people have recovered from the disease with the death toll standing at 5,604.

The minister also reported that forty-six patients have recovered from the disease and thirty-seven were discharged from the Home-based Isolation and care program while nine others were discharged from various facilities across the country. Three hundred and fifty-two patients are still admitted to various health facilities across the country with nine being admitted to the ICU and two others in the HDU.
