President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence and comfort to President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Government and the People of the Republic of South Africa
The President condoled with the bereaved families following the death of over 300 people. The floods damaged roads and destroyed homes.
President Kenyatta wished quick recovery to those injured in the catastrophe which has led to untold devastation and human suffering in the country’s Kwa-Zulu Natal Province.
“To the bereaved families, President Kenyatta prayed for God’s comfort as they come to terms with the painful demise of their beloved, adding that the Government and the People of Kenya stand in solidarity with South Africans during this difficult period of grief and suffering.” Said State House
The Kwa Zulu Natal government described the disaster as one of the darkest moments in its history”
The South African government declared a state of disaster to rescue people who are trapped in the mudslides
