Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura donated United Democratic Alliance (UDA) branded wheelbarrows to Githurai traders drawn from 7 market sections.
Wheelbarrow is the party symbol for the UDA party associated with the Deputy president William Ruto. Ruto is seeking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August general elections.
“Giving wheelbarrows to hundreds of Githurai traders drawn from the 7 market sections of Gïthurai Market early this morning.” Mwaura said.
He went on to say that Wheelbarros are meant to empower the common mwananchi.
“Wheelbarrownomics focuses on empowering the common man and woman who works hard daily to put food on the table; from tuk-tuk drivers, Boda Boda riders, mama mbogas, shoe shiners and all hustlers.” He said.
The nominated senator representing people living with disability went on to drum up support for the bottom up economic model.
“Hustler Nation government will ensure a total of 50B annually goes to the Bottom Up program and 10B to SMEs. 1M jobs will be guaranteed. “He continued.
In 2017 Mwaura ran unsuccessfully for the Ruiru parliamentary seat where he lost to Simon King’aru in the Jubilee party primaries.
