Gospel singer and online sensation Rachel Wandeto Muthoni, who gained national attention after tattooing President William Ruto’s face and political slogans on her body, has died following a brutal attack that left her with severe burns.
Rachel, popularly known as Rachel Wandeto, had been admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital after she was allegedly attacked by unknown assailants in Mwiki, Kasarani, and set ablaze.
Reports indicated that the gospel artist suffered extensive burns on her face, arms, legs and torso after attackers allegedly doused her with petrol before setting her on fire.

The incident shocked Kenyans and sparked outrage online, with many calling for justice and an end to politically motivated violence.
Before her death, senior government officials including Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Inspector General Douglas Kanja had visited her in hospital and condemned the attack.
Murkomen described the incident as “a barbaric act that has no place in our society,” adding that investigations had been launched to identify and arrest those responsible.
Rachel had gone viral earlier this year after tattooing President Ruto’s portrait on her chest alongside the phrase “Tutam” (Two Terms), a move that generated mixed reactions across the country and on social media.
According to earlier reports, the attackers allegedly accused her of benefiting financially from her political support for the President before attacking her.
Her death has triggered an outpouring of grief online, with Kenyans mourning her as a victim of intolerance and senseless violence.
Police investigations into the attack are ongoing.
