Capital FM, NRG, One FM risk cancellation

The Communications authority of Kenya has threatened to revoke frequencies for over 60 FM stations for failure to comply with the broadcasting regulations.

In a statement CAK said that they had initiated the revocation process of frequencies for Capital FM, NRG Radio and Mbaitu FM among others which are said to have breached the Kenya Information and Communication Act.

“In accordance with section 46C of the Kenya Information and Communications Act, 1998, it is illegal to provide any form of broadcasting service in Kenya without a license issued by the communications authority of Kenya (CA),” Statement reads.

The commission has since given the radio stations 30 days to comply or they will closed permanently.

Koch Fm,Serian,Rware and Western are operating with an expired license.

Since taking office, Chiloba has led a crackdown on radio stations operating without proper papers from the Communications Authority.

This comes days after the commission suspended Pastor Nganga’s Sasa Tv for 6 months after airing inappropriate content
