Christian Eriksen breaks silence after ICD shock: “I am doing well and I am home with my family”

Danish football star Christian Eriksen has reassured fans after a frightening medical episode involving his implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD), confirming he is safe, recovering, and back with his family.

Eriksen, who survived a cardiac arrest during Euro 2020 in 2021, said the latest shock was unexpected but not linked to his earlier collapse — sparking renewed concern across the football world.

“I want to let everyone know that I am doing well and that I am home with my family,” he said.

The midfielder admitted the incident has shaken those closest to him.

“As you can probably imagine, receiving a shock from my ICD has had a major impact on both me and my family,” Eriksen revealed.

But he quickly moved to calm fears, stressing the situation was different from his life-threatening episode in 2021.

“I want to reassure everyone that this was a different situation from what happened in 2021,” he said.

Despite the scare, Eriksen confirmed he is already on the road to recovery.

“I am feeling good, and my recovery has already started,” he added.

The Danish international also paid tribute to medical staff and teammates who rushed to support him.

“In addition to being grateful for the support and assistance of all the players and the medical team on the field,” he said.

Eriksen expressed deep gratitude to the specialists who have cared for his heart condition since his collapse.

“I am also incredibly grateful to the doctors who have cared for me and my heart over the years,” he said.

He credited his life-saving device for doing exactly what it was designed to do.

“Thanks to their expertise, my ICD did exactly what it was designed to do: protect me when I needed it,” Eriksen stated.

Looking ahead, Eriksen said his priorities are simple — recovery, family, and time away from football pressures.

“For now, my focus is on recovering, spending time with my family, going on vacation, playing football with my children,” he said.

The message has sparked widespread relief among fans, who continue to rally behind the Danish playmaker as he recovers from yet another health scare in his remarkable career.
