Notorious Robbery Suspects Arrested in Samburu After Intense Manhunt

In a joint operation by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kaloleni and Mariakani Police Station has led to the arrest of two notorious suspects linked to a series of violent robberies in the Mombasa and Mariakani areas.

The suspects, identified as Harun Kariuki, 33, and his girlfriend, Christine Nyakio Kinyua, 20, were apprehended in Samburu township after a sustained manhunt.

The duo is believed to be the masterminds behind multiple heists, including a fatal robbery on July 18, 2024, and an abduction and robbery on July 24, 2024.

They are also connected to a shooting incident that occurred on July 17, 2024.

During the operation, officers conducted a thorough search of the suspects’ hideout, uncovering a stash of stolen goods.

Among the items recovered were nine assorted mobile phones, three hard disks, a 24-inch Aucma TV, two generators, a laptop, a laminated motorcycle registration number plate (KMGB 786D), and a helmet bearing registration number KMFX 866Q.

These items have been preserved as crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.

The suspects are currently in custody, awaiting further legal proceedings.

The DCI has once again warned the public against engaging in criminal activities, emphasizing that the law will take its course against those who choose to break it.

“The full force of the law will be applied to ensure justice is served,” the DCI stated, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining law and order.
