President Uhuru Kenyatta delivered his second last state of the Nation address at the parliament of Kenya. His state address came at the height of a new covid19 variant that was reported in Southern African countries.
Kenyatta expressed his disappointment with developed countries who are shutting their doors in the name of preventing the spread of covid.
“Covid will not be defeated by locking us off or shutting us down. No one will be safe until we are all safe…msitufungie jamani,”the president said.
The head of state spoke after a new variant, Omicron, which has led to suspension of flights from the Southern African Nations. Omicron is believed to be more transmissible and might evade the vaccine.
Yesterday, South Africa’s president Cyril Ramaphosa termed flight suspension as unfair and uncalled for.
