Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has finally secured his visa to go and compete in the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, in the United States of America.
The Kenyan sprinter is set to represent Kenya in the 100 meters on Saturday hoping to make it on time to the event that will begin on Friday
Earlier on, the athlete’s spokesperson had said that he might not participate in the championships due to Visa delays
However, speaking to a local daily Omanyala said that he had been called and told to go and pickup his passport
“I have been called to go and pick up the passport, that my visa is ready. This is a huge relief. Now my hope is that I will be in Oregon before the race starts, my race is scheduled around 4 am Kenyan time, that’s Saturday morning,” Omanyala told Standard Sports.
The 26-year-old who won the African 100m title last month and was the first Kenyan to qualify for the Olympic 100m semi-finals in Tokyo last year is hoping to continue with his impressive performance
