Has William Ruto Shortchanged Mt. Kenya Region

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has said that Mount Kenya region is paying a heavy price for not grooming President Uhuru Kenyatta’s successor

The Chama Cha Kazi party leader accused unnamed politicians for behind the Central regions woes

“Mt Kenya region is paying a heavy price for not grooming a successor over the last 10 years. And for destroying our leaders instead of building them. For seeing the bad in people instead of the good in them.” Moses Kuria said

“For all leaders promoting themselves instead of promoting their colleagues. This is a sad day. The only thing left is to ring-fence and salvage our respective counties leadership. Andu aitu maguthaga ikiuma irima.”

Moses Kuria’s sentiment comes amid an alleged standoff in Deputy President William Ruto’s camp over the suitable candidate for his running mate position.

The Kenya Kwanza team reportedly has narrowed down to two candidates, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua and Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki.

In a press briefing at midnight, Ruto’s Head of Communications Hussein Mohamed said that the process of picking running mate had been finalized

“The running mate issue was extensively discussed today and we are happy to announce that we have a decision and the decision will be announced on Sunday, May, 15,” he said.
