Kalonzo in Uganda to meet Museveni

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was in Uganda today.He met with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni at the State House, Nakasero, today where we briefed him on the progress of the Peace Process in South Sudan.

He was accompanied by Minister for Cabinet Affairs of South Sudan Benjamin Marial, Kenya High Commissioner to Uganda Hon. Kiema Kilonzo, and the Troika Envoys on South Sudan comprising the UK , the US and Norway.

Yesterday,Kalonzo held high level meeting in Kampala

“As Special Envoy to South Sudan, I assured South Sudan of Kenya’s unwavering support to the peace process. Citing the Kenyan example of “The Handshake” in cohesive nation building that has been a significant tool in fostering inclusivity and economic prosperity, I noted that Kenya and the region stood to gain enormously from the dividends of peace in South Sudan.”Kalonzo said.

“We are thus committed to ensuring that the Revitalized Peace Agreement is successful.”He continued

Kalonzo has been spearheading peace talks as a special envoy in South Sudan since his appointment by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The president appointed Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, former Vice President as his Special Envoy to the Republic of South Sudan to spearhead and accelerate the implementation of the revitalized agreement on conflict resolution in South Sudan
