Nakuru City County Governor Lee Kinyanjui has dumped his Ubuntu Peoples Forum (UPF) Party for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.

The Governor announced that he will defend his seat on a Jubilee Party ticket in order to consolidate the Azimio Coalition and lead the campaign team in the region

“I, therefore, wish to state that I will defend my seat as Nakuru Governor on Jubilee ticket. This decision has been made in full consultation with top leadership and members of the Ubuntu Peoples Forum-UPF party.” Lee said

The county Boss said that the UPF party will field and support its candidates in respective positions in line with its mandate.

“We are deeply aware of attempts by the opponents to sponsor candidates in various parties with a view to split our support base.”

“Consequently, we shall be unveiling the candidates under Azimio after the nominations and will strive to have only one candidate for each seat from MP to Governor.”

Kinyanjui will be battling it out with the Current Nakuru County Senator Susan Kihika of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party.
