Legal Sister has initiated an online petition to regulate Boda Boda industry in Kenya.
In its petition, they want the ministry of transport and government agencies to introduced stringent measures that are meant to sanitize the industry
In its eight-point petition they want the government to License Boda Boda, introduce good conduct certificates for all motorcycle riders.
“They must have undergone road safety training and first aid training, They must be a Member of a Registered Association, The license must be revoked indefinitely upon involvement in any criminal activities.” The petition read.
“Create an app for rogue Boda Boda riders accessible to the public
They must have a tag indicating their full name and license number.”
The petition comes after an online uproar after a woman motorist was harassed by Boda Boda riders at Wangari Maathai Road in Nairobi.
