City win to extend winning run

Manchester City moved 13 points clear of second placed Chelsea with a 1-0 win at the Etihad courtesy of a brilliant solo strike from Kevin De Bruyne in a game they dominated. City have now won 12 successive Premier League matches. The reigning European champions on the other hand have only won 3 of their last 9 games.

Coutinho inspires Aston Villa comeback

It was a dream debut for new Aston Villa signing, Phillippe Coutinho as he came off the bench and had an immediate impact , scoring Villa’s first goal. Jacob Ramsey then scored the second and drew them level with the visitors who’d been leading courtesy of two Bruno Fernandes strikes. Manchester United are now seventh on the Premier League table.

Newcastle held as Wolves win

Newcastle were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Watford. Allan Saint Maximin had put the Magpies ahead but a Joao Pedro header in the 87th minute meant they had to settle for a draw. Elsewhere, Wolves cruised to a 3-1 win over Southampton while Norwich piled more pressure on Everton boss Rafa Benitez with a 2-1 win.
