Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua will chair the Azimio Council meeting in Nairobi.
On top of the agenda will be the Zoning of some constituencies to increase the chances of the coalition winning more seats
The two will be prevailing on some weaker candidates to shelve their ambitions to support candidates who are stronger
The zoning of constituencies has not gone well with some hopefuls who have insisted that [they must be on the ballot paper
Among those disgruntled by the coalition’s decision is Mathare Member of Parliament hopeful popularly known as Bahati who has insisted that he won’t accept zoning and support the incumbent MP Anthony Oluoch
According to the ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, the coalition had settled on the incumbent, Anthony Oluoch, to fly their flag in the polls
“Our colleagues from Jubilee will be presenting their candidates from eight constituencies and those from ODM will present some from eight constituencies,” Sifuna said on Monday
Sifuna went on to say that Zoning was done perfectly “In Mathare we have agreed that it’s an ODM zone. We only have one candidate in Mathare and that is Anthony Oluoch, this young man called Bahati is my younger brother and we will talk. I will make sure that we find him another position within the Azimio government.”
Bahati insisted that he will only step down if Jubilee Party Secretary-General asked him to do so
