Ruth Odinga Wins ODM Ticket In Kisumu Primaries

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga’s sister, Ruth Odinga, will fly the ODM flag after winning the party’s primaries.

Ruth Odinga who is also the former Kisumu Deputy Governor garnered 23,665 votes against her closest competitor Rose Omondi who got 13,685 votes

Prof. Tom Ojienda clinched the party’s Senate ticket in Kisumu after he garnered 39,336 votes. Rose Nyamunga came a distant second with 18,319 votes.

Joshua Oron got 6.842 votes to clinch the ODM ticket to contest for the Kisumu Central seat. He floored Fred Ouda who got 5,362, He is the only sitting MP in Nyanza who did not secure a ticket in the ODM nominations

Other winners include Nicholas Oricho of Kisumu East who got 4535, Nyakach’s Aduma Owuor got3893, and James Onyango Koyoo of Muhoroni got 4042 votes
