Kenya Kwanza team has settled on Absa Bank Kenya Ltd Chief Operating Officer James Njoroge Muchiri to be Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja’s running mate in the race for Nairobi County Seat
James Muchiri was picked as Sakaja’s running mate after losing in the recently concluded UDA primaries where he was gunning for the Nyandarua gubernatorial seat on a UDA ticket.

This comes as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati announced that the commission has granted gubernatorial aspirants a two-week extension to name their running mates.
Sakaja said that he picked Muchiri because of his wealth of experience in the corporate sector that will benefit Nairobians
“Unlike many deputy governors who just sit and have tea and read newspapers, he brings a wealth of experience from the corporate world. He perfectly fits the bill of what we want to do in Nairobi,” Sakaja said

Sakaja will now face off with the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance’s Polycarp Igathe who was unveiled on Friday by Raila odinga
The former Nairobi County Deputy Governor who is also corporate bigwig turned politician will be deputized by Philip Kaloki
