Kenya Kwanza Presidential candidate William Ruto will not be allowed to Use the Nyayo National Stadium as it has been booked for a peace concert
Referring to a letter written to Sports Sports Kenya y the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Veronica Maina, Sports Kenya said that both Moi International Sports Centre- Kasarani and Nyayo National Stadium have been booked from 5th– 7th August 2022.
“We regret to inform you that due to peace concert scheduled to take place at both Moi International Sport Center- Kasarani and Nyayo National Stadium between August 5 to 7 2022. The facility will not be available for their use,” the letter said.
Sports Kenya apologized to Kenya Kwanza for the inconvenience that they may have caused them.
The Deputy President had sought the venue to hold their final rally that was supposed to be held on 6th August 2022
Both Azimio La Umoja One Kenya and Kenya Kwanza have been claiming that they had already booked the venue for their last rally
Junet Mohamed who is the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition Secretary General issued a statement, stating that the last rally will be held at Nyayo National Stadium
“As the country approaches the general election in 20 days, the Azimio team wishes to thank all Kenyans of goodwill who have turned up in their millions all over the country at meetings, rallies and in person to join in this historic journey to a fair, just, prosperous and inclusive nation,” the statement reads.
