A section of Kenya Kwanza Senators want to impeach of Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria over his tweet that has been termed as a ‘public shame’
The Cabinet Secretary took to his X account (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday night to call out 13 senators over the ongoing impeachment hearing against Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza.
According to Moses Kuria the 13 cabinet secretaries led by Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot were being misled by external forces to impeach Governor Mwangaza.
“Senators Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), Sigei (Bomet) , Sen. Mundigi (Embu), Samson Cherargei (Nandi) , Seki (Kajiado), Fatuma Dullo (Isiolo), Abdul Haji (Garissa), Kamau Murango (Kirinyaga), Wahome Wamatinga (Nyeri). Kathuri Murungi (Meru), Wambua (Kitui), Kajwan’g (Homabay) STOP IT. You can see from evidence you are being misled” Kuria said.
However, Kuria’s remarks did not go down well with the senators who said the cabinet secretary’s conduct was unbecoming and should be relieved of his duties.
Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei urged the president to reign in to tame Kuria and his transport counterpart CS Murkomen whom he accused of bullying and belittling institutions.
“CS Moses Kuria is a national embarrassment that doesn’t care about respecting anyone including the appointing authority plus institutions such as Senate but he is NOT alone he is in good company of CS Murkomen who insults, belittles anyone & everyone but kuria ONLY tweets But Murkomen is worse he takes the mic and bullies , insults and demeans the people and elected leaders even in funerals !. The appointing authority MUST reign in on these rogue cabinet Secretaries.” Cherargei said.
“I take great exception in the conduct of Moses Kuria in the tweet and the things he said about this House. I now agree that we should discuss the conduct of this minister because, at every given opportunity, he has done nothing but embarrass the appointing authority,” said Senator Cheruiyot, who is also the majority leader of the House.
On his part Nairobi County Senator Edwin Sifuna ssaid that Kuria is an incorrigible national shame.
“Moses Kuria is an incorrigible national shame. How much embarrassment does the president have the capacity to endure? I can assure you that if nothing is done on him (Kuria) more embarrassment is coming,” said Sifuna.
