Nairobi City County Senator Edwin Sifuna has accused the management of Nairobi City Mortuary of being complicit in the abduction and killing of youths in Kenya. His remarks have reignited public outrage, with Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi also slamming President William Ruto’s administration for failing to stop the disappearances.
Sifuna questioned how the bodies of two young men from Mlolongo had been held at the facility since December, yet their families could not locate them when they visited.
“Nairobi City Mortuary, its management, and the County Government are complicit in the abduction and killing of Kenyans,” Sifuna declared.
“How is it that the bodies of the men from Mlolongo have been there since December 18, yet when their families visited, they couldn’t find them? It is clear that the management is in cahoots with the abductors and must be held accountable,” he added.

Mystery of Missing Bodies
Sifuna’s remarks come after the shocking discovery that the missing persons’ bodies were at the county government facility all along. However, police have dismissed claims of foul play, stating that the bodies had been registered as unidentified at the mortuary since December.
Despite this explanation, concerns are growing over the increasing number of missing persons whose bodies are later found in morgues under unclear circumstances.

CS Muturi Attacks Ruto’s Inaction
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has once again criticized President William Ruto’s government for failing to curb abductions and extrajudicial killings.
“It’s unacceptable that parents and relatives can search for their loved ones for more than 40 days while the government remains preoccupied with economic discussions. Economy for whom, if young people are being abducted and killed?” Muturi questioned.
The Cabinet Secretary urged President Ruto to take immediate action, reminding him of his earlier promise to end such incidents.
“We cannot be told that the police don’t know what’s happening. Our police force is one of the most efficient in the region. If they were serious about solving this, it would take only days or even hours. Mr. President, order an end to these abductions and extra-judicial killings and launch an open inquiry into how they have been happening,” Muturi demanded.
Pressure Mounts on the Government
With mounting pressure from leaders and affected families, the government now faces tough questions about its commitment to protecting its citizens. Will Ruto heed the calls for action, or will abductions and unexplained deaths continue unchecked?
