Traders ask President Ruto to honor his pledge to complete Kitale modern market

Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) have asked President William Ruto to deliver his pledge of Sh 100 million to complete construction of Kitale modern market amid traders suffering congestion in Kitale town.

County KNCCI Chairman Titus Kilong and traders led by Mary Achieng noted that President Ruto promised to release the funds for the national government to facilitate completion of the stalled market started by the County government.

Speaking at Kitale market, the market secretary Mary Achieng said that most of those selling outside the market are at risk as they sell on dangerous busy highways.

The traders have asked the County government to ensure they have a conducive place to do business.

Kenya National Chambers of commerce and industry ( KNCCI) County chairman Titus Kilong’i urged the county government of Trans-Nzoia to create a conducive environment for the business community so that they can work and in return pay taxes.

Kilong’i asked the County government to complete the markets under construction so that many people can access market facilities to build the economy of Trans-Nzoia and that of the entire country.
