Ralf Rangnick in his press conference yesterday confirmed plans for a Manchester United rebuild. He mentioned that seven, eight, or maybe even TEN players would arrive.
This simply means its is going to be a very busy transfer window for the Red Devils. It is worth noting however that United are waiting to announce the arrival of new manager Erik Ten Hag as they do not want to conduct transfer business without his involvement and approval.
Manchester United and Ajax are in direct contact over the payment of Ten Hag’s €2m release clause. An announcement will be made this week.
While it is true that a number of players will indeed leave, Ten Hag has been told that he may have to find a way to use them as it may be difficult to ship them out.
This is because of contract lengths and the prices some of the players would fetch in the market.
Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad with new singings in a number of positions. These include Central Midfield in the event Pogba leaves, Defensive Midfield, Forward and Centre Back.
So what players are they targeting for these positions?
Well, United are looking to sign Anthony from Ajax for about £50 million. Christopher Nkunku is also a target. However he wants Champions League football which realistically speaking is not in Manchester United’s sights at the moment.
Sergej Milinkovic Savic is a target for midfield as is Kalvin Phillips. United face competition from PSG for the former who is likely to cost £70 million.
The Red Devils are reportedly eyeing a move for Villarreal defender, Pau Torres and have followed him for a long time.
With regards to outgoings, Paul Pogba was offered to Manchester City by his agent Mino Raiola during negotiations for Haaland. However, City are uninterested and have other targets for that position. PSG, Real Madrid and Newcastle have been named as suitors for the 28 year old.
United fans, what do you expect in the summer?
